After outgo the mid-'70s travelling through Europe and India, he studied ethnic humanities at UCLA, returning to Tokyo to learn Educational Theories at Toyoeiwa Woman's University. In 2002 the atmospherical Bamboo was released, and three long time subsequently came Stone Monkey, which featured his shakuhachi assorted with breakbeats. In 2006, some other record for his side numerical group, the Kazu Matsui Project, Pioneer, was issued.
