Avril Lavigne Launches Abbey Dawn Clothing Line: 'It's Absolutely My Wardrobe'

Punk-rock princess Avril Lavigne has barely added wear designer to her rsum. She's teamed up with Kohl's to launch her mall-punk-inspired line called Abbey Dawn.

"Every octad weeks I have new pieces approaching into the store," she told MTV News. "So we're design like crazy like, tons of stuff and it's so much fun."

The line of tight fitting jeans, skirts, hoodies and T-shirts features a lot of skulls, stars, draughts and zebra print, according to Lavigne, who was almost banned from playing an forthcoming show in Malaysia after the governance deemed her "too aphrodisiacal." She eventually plans to add bags and sunglasses to the line, which is available in stores now.

Finding the inspiration to start the line wasn't very difficult: She saw so many of her fans emulating her style that becoming a wear designer was the ordered next step.

"It was a great opportunity for me to do this, and now that I'm sr. and more than into fashion and stuff and nonsense, I've put together a cute short line. It's totally my style and everything I would assume. It's perfectly my wardrobe."

But it's the origin of the line's moniker that really holds a special place in the singer's heart.

"My pop gave me the nickname Abbey Dawn when I was a little girlfriend," she said. "It was a street he saw. And all my friends in high school called me Abbey. I always really liked the key. I didn't know if maybe I would identify my daughter Abbey if I had a girl one day, or a song name. So I had a clothing line of credit first, so I named it Abbey Dawn."

Being a designer does have one perk that she's especially excited about: "Free wearing apparel," Lavigne aforementioned. "I never have to shop again!"

The 23-year-old is stoked to finally see her togs on fans and doesn't even mind when they show up to her concerts in the same thing she's wearing.

"I've seen some of the fans at my shows wearing my shirts, and sometimes I've been onstage erosion [one of the shirts]," she aforesaid, "and they have the same one and only on, and I'm like, 'Hey, nice shirt,' and I get rattling excited.

"[I'm looking forward to] seeing people walk around with it," she added. "It volition be truly cool."

Soccer star's wife strips for charity

Chelsea captain John Terry has reason to smile again, after last month's Champions League defeat, thanks to his wife's most recent charity work.
Mrs Terry has been pictured modelling lingerie brand Wonderbra's latest collection to help publicise the biggest underwear charity photoshoot this summer.
Every woman attending the shoot, which takes place in London on 28 June, will feature in a special 2009 calendar for Breast Cancer Care.
Mrs Terry, a former beautician, said: "In today's image-obsessed world it's great to be a part of a campaign that celebrates girls with curves and raises funds for breast cancer research."
In January, Wonderbra announced that burlesque performer Dita von Teese would be the new face of the brand.

Eva Longoria - Longoria Parker Not Pregnant

EVA LONGORIA PARKER's stylist has laughed off fresh rumours the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES actress is pregnant - insisting if she was with child, it would show in the size of her breasts.

The Latina beauty married French basketball star Tony Parker last July (07) and the couple has been plagued by reports they are expecting ever since.

The latest rumours were sparked on Monday (09Jun08) after Longoria Parker, who was wearing a loose-fitting dress, was snapped shopping in New York City's Ferragamo boutique - with store employees appearing to point at her belly.

But stylist Robert Verdi, who had accompanied the actress on her shopping trip, is adamant the star is not about to become a first-time mum.

He tells People.com, "I'm not her gynaecologist, but I am her stylist. I see her naked. I see her boobs! That's the first place it would show, and it's not showing!"

And he admits the photos are hilarious because it couldn't be further from the truth: "Eva was holding a handbag that she bought in the crook of her arm.

"The manager came over and said to her, 'I love that bag.' But in the photos, it looks like the woman is gesturing to her midsection. It's too funny."

Hilary Duff - Duff Hates Good Girl Label

Actress/singer HILARY DUFF hates her mantle as a well-behaved pop star - because she's not out to "prove herself".

The 20-year-old was criticised by Avril Lavigne for being a "goody-goody", but Duff laments 'good' and 'bad' labels only apply to young stars - not older performers.

She says, "I said something about how she didn't like her fans dressing like her, and how she should appreciate that because it's a compliment. She called me a goody-goody.

"Everyone is trying to prove who they are, and their position. So, I'm 'the good girl.' She's 'the bad girl' or 'the party girl.' Sarah Jessica Parker doesn't take her clothes off, but she's not a 'good girl.' (Adult actors) don't get tagged like we do."
